The Robbery « Thread Started on May 11, 2009, 9:59pm »
It was a busy day in The Tavern. Many had gotten payed for their jobs today and many who had had come to drink it all away. Money had also been made in the Ring, yet another source of income for the pub. It was packed; every table was loaded to capacity, and the bar was overly crowded. All sorts came to the pub, but it still came as a surprise when a panda walked through the door, dressed in the finery of a Buddhist monk. His ring staff jingled as he walked. Shi Baihuy nodded to several people and almost half of the bar turned to acknowledge him. The rest were to engrossed in their drinks or their conversations. He slammed the butt of his staff into the ground to call attention to himself and cleared his throat dramatically. "Ladies and gentlemen, patrons of the Tavern. This is a robbery." Many 'patrons' leaped up and drew swords, gesturing threateningly at the others. Several drew bags and began going around. "Ladies and Gentlemen, if you would please place your valuables into the bags it would be most appreciated." The panda wandered around the bar, watching his boys closely but the patrons closer. One bandit tried to take a simple necklace with a tiny gold locket on it from a young woman. He grabbed his wrist and gave him a threatening glare and he relented and moved on to a different target. The panda smiled at her and winked lewdly, causing her to blush, but someone else caught his eye; a lovely young wolf. He began to make his way over to her but the bartender hurled a bottle at him. He caught the movement and smashed it in flight with the butt of his staff. "Your a monk! Why are you robbing people like some common bandit!?" He smiled and some of the other bandits chuckled. "Friend, I haven't been a monk for a long time. But, I still have my principles. I'd like to make up for that bottle, so give me a few cases of your strongest ale. And your best sake, of course. Don't worry, we'll pay for everything." He ignored the mans stammering and made his way over to the table where the wolf sat; one of his men had beaten him there, though, and he stopped and watched, interested in how this one would react to being robbed.

She sat there alone, leg's crossed over each other and eyes closed as she seemed to be asleep. The only thing giving her away was the slight twitch of her ears, tail and lips, clearly not pleased with what she saw behind her lids. A slight vision coming to her, the elements finding it interesting to show the young wold just what was going to happen soon enough and teasing her with just tidbits of it. Screams, yells, and a strange laugh; well if anything something interesting was going to happen soon enough.
She opened her eyes, having the sound and smell of the bar coming back to her. Her nose scrunched up, scolding her self to come to such a place knowing full well how long it would take her to get the smokey smell out of her fur. Well, at least she was still close to the elements even in this hell hole. A lone candle flickering in front of her as she smiled, knowing full well which element was teasing her now with visions.
She watched the flame flicker in a odd way, telling her trouble was about to start when a panda that looked to be a monk stepped in. Aoi gave the newcomer a quick look over before turning back to her candle, paying no mind to robbery that was taking place. It took no time before a man slid in front of her, holding a knife in front of him and telling her to give over her money. She gave him a toothy grin. Humans, so easy for them to hide behind metal but get them without it and many of them went back to being a coward. "And if I don't?"
"I'll just have to force you to give it." The flame flickered, almost in laughter at the threat.
"Then come for it!" She stayed sitting, her eyes narrowing some as she said it as the flame in the candle quickly grew bigger and brighter, blinding those that where near her. In that split moment she made her move, her dagger in her hand as she had the other guy pinned to the wall with her dagger to his throat pushing into him some as his knife was on the floor. "I suggest you pick someone else that does not fight back like I do." Her snout in his face as she showed him all her teeth. "Be glad I already ate!" Throwing him to the side as she slowly walked back to her table and sat down again.

A few men started for the wolf when she so easily dispatched the first, but Baihuy stopped them with a wave of his hand. He glared daggers at the female for a moment before his face slowly broke into a grin. He began to chuckle softly, then to laugh, and finally hes booming with laughter. He wiped a tear from his eye. "A fine display! It would seemt he young lady can certainly handle herself in a fight..." He frowned again. "That said, YOU, sir, were out of line. Someone, pick him up and get him out of my site." A man with a shaved head hurried to drag the uncontious man away. The panda turned slowly, looking at each of his men in turn. "You all know the rules. What are the rules?" The clapped their feet together and saluted with whicherver hand held a weapon, speaking in unison. "Take only from those who can afford to give. Do not take that which is special to its owner. Harm only those who attempt to harm us or one of our brothers. Do not kill." He nodded as he turned back to the girl, and the men went back to their tasks, somewhat ssubdued. "Good..." As the panda stood staring at her the men filed out one by one. The last took a large case of bottle from the bar, leaving a pile of coins which the bartender took hesitantly. Baihuy twisted his staff, grinding the butt into the ground. "Much as he deserved what he got, I'm afraid I cant let the third rule slide by; Harm only those who harm us or our brothers... He looked around again. "Perhaps we should take this outside, so as not to damage this fine establishment?" He stood aside and gestured towards the door with his free hand. "After you."

Aoi just threw her head back and laughed. "Honor among thieves!? I find this rather amusing." She tapped her hand gently against the table. "And so you will fight me because I pushed one of your men around. Seems rather pointless. 'Survival of the fittest'." She stood. It was a long time since she used her powers in a fight, if they were willing to listen then maybe she could come out as the winner, if not well she could only get her self out of trouble some how.
She walked out the door, her tail gently sweeping side to side as she walked before stopping a few feet from the building and waiting for her opponent to come out.

Shi Baihuy watched her as she left, giving an appreciative whistle before falling into step behind her. Once outside he stepped past her and took a distance of more or less 10 yards; actually 10 PACES. He lifted on foot to examine the sole of his sandal, picking out a rock that had embedded its self in the material. "So, whats your name? I feel I should know someones name before fighting them. Mine is Shi Baihhuy." He put his foot back down and tapped his staff against the ground a couple of times, causing the rings to jingle. He hefted it and twirled it at his side for a moment, but then replaced it and leaned on it casually. He smiled at her. "Ya know, your awfully pretty. Didja know that? Yeah, I bet people tell you that all the time. They do, don't they?" He scuffed his foot on the ground for a moment, then scribbled in the dirt with his toe. "We really shouldn't be fighting, you know. Theres so many funner things we could be doing. Why don't we go back to my place and I'll show you a few?" He winked lewdly at her. He was trying to anger her, of course; he really did want to fight. Although if his hopes were the least bit founded they would still be trying those 'games' later on.

Aoi blushed, her own foot digging into the dirt as he called her pretty. "Really? I've never had someone call me that before." Looking at him shyly, a small giggle coming from her. "Really!? My, that does sound nice." She wrapped her tail around her, giggling still. "You're a funny one Mr. Baihhuy. To bad you're rules say we have to fight. It would have been fun to go hang out for a few at your place." Winking back at him as she stood there.

The panda stared slack-jawed at her for a moment, his men doing the same. Whats up with her? First shes after my blood now shes playing coy? Shes trying to use the same trick I am! "Well it wont work!" He leaped at her, his staff spinning over his head before coming down in a powerful overhand chop. He pulled his attack slightly, not wanting to actually hurt her.

Aoi stayed blushing and smiling, a strong wind picking up and blowing the monk to the side and making his attack miss by a good foot. She looked at him dumb folded. "What won't work?" She blinked at him. "Oh my gosh!" Looking away from him. "I'm sorry if you're having problems like that. Though, I think they have something to fix it." Her face turned a little more red. "I don't think you should go saying that out loud though, people will talk."
She leaned forward towards him, winking at him. "Though you are kind of cute." Giving him a sweet smile as she looked at him. "I'm sure I can over look that little thing since it can be cured."

He dropped instinctively when he landed and rolled to the side, jumping to his feet again. He stared at her dumbfounded for a moment before a slow smile parted his features. "A shaman. Alright then..." He reached into his robes and pulled out four sacred sutra; three red, one blue. The blue he dropped and watched it flutter through the air for a moment before hurling the red through the air like throwing knives. They arched towards her and reach he just as the blue one landed. In the meantime he drove his staff into the ground several inches and pulled his prayer beads off, twirling them at his side like a chain.

She watched him, smiling as he caught on. "You're the first one to figure that one out." She stood there, the wind picking up some and coming from behind her, stopping the three red cards in the air before they fell to the ground. Her fur was slightly ruffled up and she quickly flatted it back down. "But knowing what I am will only help you... some." She smirked at him, still not attacking as she wanted to see what he could do.

He stood still for a moment and blinked when the wind came, but smirked; the wind didnt touch him. He placed one foot on the blue sutra. "Bingo..." He tossed it into the air and used his chi to push it along in front of him as he rushed her. He gave an extra boost and thrusted it further ahead as he lashed out with his beads, seeking to bind her arms to her. He knew that wouldnt stop her, but it would slow her down enough to get hold of her. And he STILL didnt know if she was serious or toying with him...
