Tanaska screamed as electricity raced through her body. When it was over she fell to her knees, blood dripping from the new wound.
Damn... I cant beat him! I cant get close because of that weapon of his, and I cant attack from a distance because his electricity will just nullify it... Wait... What If I dont use metal! The only ranged jutsu I have is...
She climbed to her feet and used her Body Flicker technique to get some distance between herself and her opponent. with one hand she reached into her pouch and quickly used a loose thread to tie a few flash bombs to a kunai, then threw it, traveling clockwise and towards him to bring herself within range. If he tried to redirect the kunai with electricity, the flashbombs would detonate. If not, he'd be hit, and they would STILL detonate because of the impact. She made the proper handsigns and inhaled.
"Fire Release: Flame Bullet!"
She exhaled and a stream of fire roared towards her opponent from her mouth.
Lets see you redirect THAT!

Zanju cancelled the genjutu cast on him, and looked for his opponent so he could continue his attack. He could not find her, as she was already far away. He focused entirely on finding her from his spot, and he found her just when she revealed herself. He had no time to pursue, however, because she immediately threw a kunai his way. He again used the same defence, charging his weapon with negative electricity, and prepared to redirect it. He arrogantly pointed his large naginata directly at the kunai, expecting it to veer off to a side due to the magnetic forces.
His technique worked perfectly, but it was too bad for him that Tanaska planned for that to happen. The kunai veered off, but this action caused the string to break, and send the non-magnetic flash bombs directly toward Zanji. They got close enough to him that the electric residue from his naginata sparked forth and detonated them. The resulting bright flash blinded Zanji, and he was helpless against Tanaska’s following Flame Bullet jutsu. The flaming missile hit him square on the chest, charring his flesh and knocking him back onto the ground.
Zanji’s instincts had him nip up from the prone position and turn the chakra that oozed from his body into electricity. He was still blinded from the multiple flash bombs, so he wanted to wait and heal from this affliction. He would not be a sitting duck though: his electric force field was negatively charged to redirect weapons, and if Tanaska got close to him, she would be shocked. He then ran into the pillar forest, using echolocation of his footsteps to navigate in so he could get cover from subsequent fire attacks. Once he recovered, he would go on the offensive again, and he would not trust a single one of Tanaska’s attacks.

Tanaska nodded, then bent double and paused to catch her breath. If she gave her opponent time to recover, he'd be on her in an instant, and she didnt the the same trick would work more than once. She had another idea, though.
She pulled a few paper bombs and her remaining needles from her pouch, wrapping the bombs around the needles in a cluster to make a sort of shrapnel bomb. She used a kunai to dig a small hole and burried the bomb with the needles pointing up in a deadly trap, only the very tips of the needles emerging from the ground. She took a position against one wall so she could see her trap and set up a jutsu; hopefully she could set it off BEFORE he recovered his vision.
"Demonic Illusion: False Surroundings."
She reversed the layout of the arena; the pillars were now on HER side, and her opponent was, apparently, out in the open. This was an Illusion, of course, but her enemy wouldnt know that. Her plan was that when his sight came back, he would think hed somehow gotten turned around and left the pillars. To make it safe she waited a moment, long enough for him to regain his vision, a performed the jutsu again, laying a second illusion of the arena in its actual position, with an extra surprise just for him.
"Demonic Illusion: Cherry Hell Viewing."
A cloud of blossoms should be surrounding him right about now, soon to fall away and set the trap; he would disimiss the latest illusion, only to reveal the first one. When he made his way back into what he believed to be the forest of pillars, he would come too close to the trap for the needles to be defelected and she would detonate the bombs. As long as even a few needled hit, he wouldnt dare use his electricity; it would arc back into himself. After that, things would go back to hand-to-hand combat, taijutsu, and he kekkei genkai would truly shine.

Zanji’s vision returned while Tanaska was creating her special bomb. As soon as it returned, he leapt up to a tall pillar to try and find his opponent. When he got up there, Tanaska’s multiple genjutsus went to work, but as soon as he saw the telltale petals, he put his right index finger up to his face to release it. There was so much that he had to dispel that he had to use more chakra than he anticipated, which caused him to lose some of his energy while over compensating. His reserve pool of chakra was getting lower, and if he planned to continue anymore in this tournament, he would need to fight a little more conservatively.
After he cancelled the, Zanji found Tanaska standing amongst the pillars. He strode along the pillar’s tops to make it just above her, and with that, he charged his body with negatively charged electricity again, then he jumped off the pillar, directly down so he would land close to Tanaska, “Thunder Drop!” His body cracked with power, which seemed to augment even more the further he fell, and then he landed upon the ground with a deafening explosion of power, shocking everything within a twenty-five meter radius. With this degree of power, even a person caught in the blast would be temporarily sent into the air ten feet, slowly descending with powerful electromagnetism.

Tanaska didnt even have time to scream. The world went black for a moment; when she came to she was on the ground. She slowly got to her feet wiped the blood from her mouth where her lip had bvusted. She wiped it on her clothes and stood tall, staring her foe in the face. She tasted iron; she had bitten her tongue during his last attack.
"Damn; I thought it would take longer for your eyes to recover. Well, I'm guessing your as low on chakra as I am? Alright then..."
She pulled off her tool pouch and threw it aside, palming a bunch of caltrops first.
"Lets go, you and I. Taijutsu, hand to hand. No lightning from you, no illussions from me. Agreed?"
She broke into a run, into the pillars.
"But you have to find me first..."
She made her way to the back of the 'forest', scattering caltrops behind her and to her left and right as she went to discourage pursuit. Finally, she reached the edge of the arena. She performed a single handsign.
"Transform."
A few moments later, the referee leaped across the tops of the pillars until he found Zanji.
"That Konoha girl feinted; too much for a girl, I guess. Nice work, Zanji; you've won! Didnt expect her to last that long, really..."
He turned to the Kages.
"The winner; Zanji, of course. Can we get someone with a stretcher out here for that Konoha girl?"
Tana only prayed that the REAL referee didnt ruin her plan... As soon as Zanji's guard was down, she's hit him with another Flame Bullet; it was all the chakra she had left.

Zanji chased after Tanaska while yelling angrily at her for asking for a straight up fight, something he would have accepted, but then ran away. He was forced to change directions due to caltops, because quite simply put, he did not want to feel pain on his feet. Because of this direction change, he lost Tanaska. He dashed around the pillar forest looking for her, and prepared for any sneak attacks. When he heard a person up above, he immediately threw a kunai up at where Tanaska was while she was impersonating the referee.
When Tanaska spoke, Hiryukiba groaned in disgust, “The referee doesn’t use contractions flower girl…” He said under his breath.
With the delivery of the false declaration of victory, Zanji raised his spear into the air victoriously, “Hah! No wonder she ran!”

The imposter-referee ducked quickly, narrowly evading the kunai.
"Hey! Watch it!"
Now!
When he celebrated his premature victory she made a few quick handsigns and inhaled deeply.
"Fire Release: Flame Bullet!"
A brilliant red and orange glow manifested in her mouth as visible waves of heat billowed forth like a mirrage. She exhaled and a roaring stream of fire streaked towards her target.
"GOTCHA NOW! THIS'LL TEACH YOU TO RESPECT GIRLS!!!"
The inferno enveloped Zanji, spinning around his body in a hich-pitched scream, like the souls of the damned exacting burning vengeance. The very ground beneath him was scorched and blackened, the air becoming so hot that it would have ignited anyone who came close. After a moment, the flames extinguished, the oxygen in the immediate area consumed. As they diminished there was a mighty WHOOSH! and a powerful gust of wind as new air rushed to fill the vacuum.
Dropping her illusion, she leaped off her perch and pressed one of her bone spikes against the base of his skull, daring him to move.
"Game. Set. Match."

The referee appeared where the two combatants were in a puff of smoke. Tanaska would note that there was absolutely no trace of his presence until that moment, showing her the level of skill that a Jounin possessed, “Son of a – I mean: looks like we have a winner! Apparently we do not make Genin the way we used to; ours both lost to that Konoha team! The only whole team that made it to the finals as a matter of fact! There, I praised you enough already, how do you enjoy that reward for beating my expectations? Anyway! Enough of that, we have a tournament to continue! Next we have Yariza and Nisashi. Come down and kick the crud out of each other for our amusement!”

Tanaska silently made her way to where her companions arrived she collapsed against a wall and slid down it to a sitting position, blood oozing down her side. She was panting for breath. She glanced up at her team.
"Well... How'd I do?"
She grimaced and applied pressure to her injury with her hand.
"I think... I should see a medic..."

Shinju shook her head, not sure on what to think of the fight. It was true that Tanaska was a little sloppy when she tried to act as the judge but over all she won and that's all that matter. "You won." Giving the other girl a smile as Shin watched her teammate closely. "You should go see a medic. You used up to much of your own energy to take care of your own wounds."
